Song playing on movie Primal Fear
I am trying to find the name of the song that is playing in the
movie Primal Fear. It is playing towards the beginning as Richard
Gere is going into the pool hall to talk to his client. There's no
lyrics and the tune was used in another movie but I can't
remember what the name of that movie is. I went and listened to
the soundtrack of Primal Fear but I didn't hear it. Does anyone
possibly know what song it is? Thank You.

Are you talking a track from the SCORE? I have the La La Land Extended Score.

Great question! The instrumental track you’re describing in Primal Fear (during
Richard Gere’s pool hall scene) is likely “Clubbed to Death” by Rob Dougan. It’s a
haunting, strings-driven piece famously used in The Matrix (1999) and other
films/TV shows. While it’s not on the official Primal Fear soundtrack listing, it’s
often associated with intense, moody scenes like this one.
If that’s not the one:
Check “Lux Aeterna” by Clint Mansell (from Requiem for a Dream), another
frequently reused instrumental.
Alternatively, the track might be “Experience” by Ludovico Einaudi (used in
Mommy, This Is England, etc.), though less likely given the film’s 1996 release.
Still unsure? Try:
Shazam the scene directly (even with dialogue).
Check the IMDb “Soundtracks” page for Primal Fear – sometimes unlisted tracks
appear in user comments.
Search YouTube for “Primal Fear pool hall scene song” – fans often ID obscure
tracks.
Hope this helps! Let us know if you crack the mystery. ????
