Morricone score confusion
Can anyone explain what the connection is between these two films scored by Ennio Morricone:
... Correva L'Anno Di Grazia 1870 (1971)
and
Tre Donne (1971)
both of which include the themes:
Canzone Senza Parole and Solitudine
Both films/scores are listed in the database. Both films star Anna Magnani but the 45rpm sleeve for Tre Donne shows a "modern" setting whilst the other film's storyline is set in 1870.
Any explanation gratefully received. Many thanks.

Hi Mitch
TRE DONNE was a 3 part Italian TV film and the music was released by Cerberus Records on one half LP only.
CORREVA L'ANNO .... was apparantly an expanded cut of one of the episodes of the TV film, the one which starred Anna Magnani.
The Cerberus release includes at least 3 tracks not on the CAM CD, including a contemporary sounding track (actually a blueprint for the theme from LA COSA BUFFA).
The CAM CD includes a number of selections not on the Cerberus LP, and all are in the symphonic/romantic style.
This is the only explanation I have ever heard, as usual with many of Morricones scores hardly anybody has seen the films!
Best Dave

I am a little wiser - and most grateful. Thank you.
