Bergerac BBC TV theme - George Fenton - original version?

To me the best TV theme ever was for Bergerac in its original (?) pure guitar version without a French accordian which appears in later series. Is the 'original' available from any published source? I know the later one is.

The original theme was released on some obscure UK compilation likely(only the later theme released broadly on 45rpm by Food for Thought Records and various cds), as i came across it in the P2P sharing world. It does have the accordian in the original full orchestra version, you just don't realize it as the opening /end credits cuts are highly edited versions. I hope to eventually track down the vinyl that contains it.

clientlogic thanks for throwing light on the mystery - look forward to info regarding any recording sold. I think my extract was recorded off a TV and is preceded by (I presume) the horn of a ferry.

I finally tracked down a BBC 12" LP of themes BBSC508 dated 1985 but unfortunately the version on it is the later French accordion one. I think I'm looking for one issued - if it ever was - about 1981? - its guitar sounds so much better!

Hi
Does anyone have the 7" record released by Food For Thought. Does this contain the guitar/synth version used from 1987-1990???
