So what's with the schmuck thats been ripping people off?
Noticed that the posts regarding the unscupulous so and so has been deleted.
If the guy is taking people for chumps it should be known.
Personally I'm too smart to get ripped off for I only do business with reputable persons and would never conduct a transaction with anyone operating out of their basement.

I've never traded with the person in question so can't comment on those posts. What I do know is that there are some unscrupulous sellers particularly on ebay who list "rare" soundtracks that go for $40+ that are CD-R copies. You criticise them with feedback, and what happens? They blame the buyer! Would anyone go into HMV and buy a scarce album that was copied? Just because it's rare doesn't mean that collectors have to put up with spending good money on something somebody's spent five minutes putting together for 50 cents.
Of course there are actual shops who are selling professionally copied soundtrack albums and seem to get away with it.
The bottom line; we have to be careful what we're buying. I do think though, that there should be some way of communicating on this site those traders that are causing problems without it getting personal. I can see the problems with this, but ebay feedback alone (for example) isn't enough. Some people just don't know what they're buying and post glowing accounts of how great the music is. (having spent a ton on it, I suppose they're better off ignorant.
I doubt there's much we can do about this without annoying moderators of the forum, which I'd like to avoid because this is a great website!

It is a despicable thing for a person to take advantage of another.
Have to be careful who you do business with everyone.
Don't allow it to distract from enjoyment of the music.

I'm the one who asks for some infos about a "trader" (so the "schmuck"!) and had some
doubts about him. That's why I put this topic on this forum.
It was just a private trade (not a purchase through e-bay) It's not a big deal anyway but
the concerned person seems to be quick-tempered. I felt that he drove me round the
bend about a "so-called" sent package (containing 10 copies !) that I never received.
The package has been returned to him because he was mistaken writting my address
(that I had correctly written and sent by e-mail. How could he be wrong ??).
He keeps on telling me that he never received my package which never returned me
back...
As I had forgotten to put one copie in the package, I sent this one CD-R in a simple
envelope that he received some days later.
Who's to blame ? the post office ? Me ;-) ? Him ? I don't know. But I felt that I was in my
right to pick up some infos about him on specialized site.
After posting this topic and questionning him honestly about the deal by e-mail, I
received an insane mail from him... which finally was quite funny. What a bizarre world in
soundtrack collectors sometimes !! ;-)
I used to do some trades and never had problems. I hope to be as honest as possible in
trading with someone I didn't know. Too bad for me, I lost 10 copies plus color covers for
each copies... Now I would be more careful.

Thankfully, most people when sharing an interest don't rip each other off. The few that do spoil it, but there aren't many of these losers out there. So don't lose heart because, as was said, it's the music that matters.

To contribute to this I got scammed once on Ebay trying to get the album Band of the Hand on CD, I was stupid enoiugh to pay the $20.00 by money order instead of using paypal, What I got in return after waiting two weeks of sending e-mails to the dick was nothing. So I filed a complaint with both Ebay (Fat lotta good that did me and the ICCC (Internet Complaint line with the Feds) I filed my report and low and behold he actually sent me a response back on a different e-mail account. He sent the CD, and guess what he did! But to my dismay the CD was a Burned CD-R in a white sleeve, nothing like what he posted in his bid info. The lesson here is this: Buyer Beware on Ebay.
