Trying to identify a song, no one's got it yet

I'm trying to find out the name of a song, but only have a very limited description of the start to go on.

It starts with palm muted distortion guitar picking, sounds almost like an arpeggio, the notes go up then down in pitch, then there's a distorted "wail/scratch" sound, then the it repeats, then I'm not sure what comes next. I heard just this first bit on tv a while ago, but haven't been able to identify it yet.

Any guesses no matter how far out would be really appreciated.

So far I've managed to figure out that it isn't a song called dose by filter, this could fit the description but the one I'm looking for is less "random" sounding.

sorry for the poor description, but if anyone can figure out what song I mean that would be awesome!
