The "official" soundtrack album was to have been issued on Capitol-EMI in 1986 but was cancelled when movie attendance dropped! The Michael Kamen scores have been released on several different labels since then, and some of the Queen songs
that were recorded prior to the movie's release. Two of Queen's
songs that appeared in the movie soundtrack were never completed, but recorded exactly as heard in the movie track: PRINCES OF THE UNIVERSE and WHO WANTS TO LIVE FOREVER. The third Queen soundtrack cut, A KIND OF MAGIC, was never released commercially. Only the inferior studio takes have been released. Nobody seems to know who owns the rights to A KIND OF MAGIC. Whoever does will not release it commercially!
