Question

A Study in Terror

I am deperately searching for a song which appears in the 1965 Sherlock Holmes film 'A Study in Terror'. I believe the song in question is called 'In These Hard Times' (at least, that's the lyric of the refrain) and it's sung by Georgia Brown, an English cabaret singer, in a scene where Holmes and Watson go into an East End pub. I know the soundtrack exists - composed by John Scott - but I am unable to ascertain whether the song appears on it, or indeed whether it was written by John Scott, or is an old cabaret song that's just been included in it... Any pointers would be much appreciated - especially if anyone who owns the soundtrack would be able to confirm whether or not such a song is on the Hollywood Symphony Orchestra recording.... Many thanks.

I own the new soundtrack recording performed by the Hollywood Symphony Orchestra. I haven't seen the movie and I don't know that song you say, but I can say there is no song in that CD. Otherwise, the score by John Scott is excellent. As far as I know, the LP released in 1966 contained some cabaret themes (featuring Mr. Scott himself performing the piano), but these themes were removed from the new HSO recording because Scott didn't like them. Good luck!
