Question

Unfaithfully Yours - Bill Conti

Hey folks

I am trying to find out the name & composer of the main violin piece from the remake of Unfaithfully Yours. (That's the version starring Dudley Moore.) The only info I can find is that Bill Conti was the composer but for some reason I felt that the piece in question may be a classical piece.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanx

Thanx so much.

You wouldn't happen to know the title of this piece?

Thanx again.

It's really interesting that Bill Conti used this very same Tchaikovsky's violin concert (the last movement, I think) for his "The right stuff" Oscar winning score (fortunately it was not plagiarism, because Conti changed the necessary notes to avoid it). In that case, no credit was given to the Russian composer. I'm affraid Mr. Conti is a great aficionado of Tchaikovsky's art. Hmm...

In response to the music from The Right Stuff, I was shocked when I attended a performance of Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto and heard one of the themes from The Right Stuff! I immediately thought "plagiarism!" but appartently he changed JUST ENOUGH to keep it "original." BTW, I just figured out that the theme in question can be heard around 6 or 7 minutes into the first movement, not the last. Very cool that other people notice things like this, not just me!
