Joe Hisaishi-like composers
I am a huge fan of Joe Hisaishi's work for Kitano and Miyazaki. Does anyone
know a composer whose scores are close to Hisaishi's work (apart from
Ryushi Sakamoto) especially his amazing score for "A scene at the sea",
"Sonatine" and "Kids return" more than his more classical albeit fantastic
scores for "Hana-bi", "Brother", "Chihiro" and the like.

sorry, can't help you. I too am a fan of Hisaishi's work (as well as Sakamoto's) and I've yet to find any other composers who have a similar style. but surely that's a good thing right? you don't want countless numbers of Hisaishi impersonators out there do you?
