Question

David Foster's "Can You Feel It?" from the 1988 Calgary Olympics?

Dear fellow collectors,

Hi, after years of searching, I thought I should give this a try. I've been searching for a DJ or promo copy of David Foster's "Can You Feel It?" that was performed with singers at the Opening Ceremonies for the 1988 Calgary Olympics. I have the instrumental version which is on Foster's Symphony Sessions CD, but I have had no luck in finding the lyric version, even on eBay. A friend in Calgary told me that the song was playing constantly during the 1988 Olympics on the radio, so there should be DJ or promo copies of it somewhere. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sincerely,

Sonia

Dear philnyc,

I hope you're keeping track of this topic for my reply here. Unfortunately, I still have NOT found ANY copy of "Can You Feel It?" with song lyrics. I've tried e-mailing a few unofficial David Foster websites, and I've even tried calling the Calgary Olympic Museum. Nobody seems to have a copy. I'm still not giving up hope though that I might find a copy someday. Sorry I can't help you now.

Sincerely,

Sonia

Hi Sonia,

Great news! I found the song on Youtube.

Unfortunately, it only has the audio. I'm sure the video is awesome. In the spirit of the current Olympic Games, I decided to go find this. It brings back memories from the 1988 Winter Games, even though the US had a disappointing showing of only 6 medals. It was my first time watching the Winter Olympics.

I'm glad that you'll be able to hear it. Now we have to find the video version. I'm sure somebody has it somewhere.
