Morricone Scores
As a long-time Ennio Morricone fan can anyone suggest some of his little known but still available scores?, perhaps some of his foreign language (as opposed to his Usa/UK scores) I would like?
I prefer his lush orchestral stuff such as Once upon a Time in the West/Once upon a Time In America/Malena rather than his "Jaunty" stuff.
I'm open to suggestions, what's the Yo Yo Ma album like?

Morricone has two tendencies to write scores... Of course, the lush is easier to accept and can listen most of time. You can email me at namnh@yahoo.com, I will suggest you some European titles.
Yo Yo Ma album is excellent, get it if you are Morricone fan. It's lush...

Just a few I can think of off hand.

Hello,
the last two Morricone scores I listened to, where 72 METERS and MUSASHI.
Both are great.

In the last 18 months I have purchased more than 140 Ennio Morricone CDs (meaning nearly 200 scores) - I have become addicted (much to my family's concern!). Prior to then I owned only a dozen or so. There is hardly a score that has nothing to recommend it though some are harder to appreciate than others.
For lush orchestral works I would suggest:
Cinema Paradiso - this one clicked with me and I played it repeatedly until I started to buy more and more;
Incontro - short but truly wonderful melodies;
Libera Amore Mio - simply wonderful;
Maddalena - the female "orgiastic" sounds are not to everyone's taste but the melodies are great - the main theme is one of his best;
La Gabbia - an excellent mix of themes;
Butterfly - a particular favourite as I had owned a crackly Lp version for many years;
Questa Specie D'Amore - what a melody!
I could go on (... and on!). Send me an email if you wish to discuss any of these or others in my collection.

Does anyone have the cd score to Citta Violenta? I would like to hear it. I know that Mr Bungle does a version of it live. It Rocks!
Please help, thanks. Also, check out John Zorn's "The Big Gundown". Like the Yo Yo MA cd,it is also a tribute cd to Ennio Morricone.

Hi John
There are some good suggestions here, especially from 'piano'.
Make sure you get LA CALIFFA complete edition. It is still available from arksquare.
If you like his lush scores then get all the Tonatore collaborations especially STANNO TUTTI BENE and L'UOMO DELLE STELLE.
Please email me for more recommendations and possibly more...
Cheers Dave

To Thomas above:
I have Citta' Violenta as well as most of Morricone's scores. I would classify it under the avant-garde style that he used a lot in the early 70's, lots of whiny electric guitar. It's a Charles Bronson film, so it's mostly about violence, but there are a few moments of peaceful serenity in the score as well. I guess it requires somewhat of an acquired taste to appreciate the whole score.

the movies Kill Bill have a tonne of Morricone music, so if you look for those soundtracks, your sure to find some stuff

Forum is basically carrying the general questions that are basically about the need of this parameter of advance stages. The long run prefers the criteria of taking the https://www.au-resumesplanet.com/ for caring the some of the preferable foreign languages for all time.
