southeast asian 60s groove

I saw this film a few years back, dont remember much, must been released
around 2001.
the film is set in present time, some US guys goes to either kambodja, thailand,
burma or something for some reason(cant remember the storyline at all). While
there there is some awsome tunes played by some asian band with a female
singer, the sound is really 60s kitch groove stuff...

Anyone know wht film or name of band on soundtrack???
