JAMES NEWTON HOWARD conducts?
Now don`t get me wrong on this one,i enjoy his music as much as all you fans do,but i was wondering why he never conducts his own music?Does he just compose his music and give the que notes to the conductor and say:"adios! let me know how it turned out when you`re done with the recording session." or is he present at the time the music is being conducted.
I`m just curious, because i think his music is most beautiful.

Mr. Howard is always present at te time the music is being recorded, so he can make changes if necessary.

I think that composers tend to fall into one of two camps: they either want to actually conduct their music and feel they get a better feel for how things are going. Or (as in the case here) the composer wants to be in the booth listening to the actual sound that is being recorded.
