VINYL COLLECTOR
DOES ANYONE IN THIS COMMUNITY COLLECT VINYLS?I KNOW THE VINYL COLLECTOR IS MORE AN ITEM'S COLLECTOR THAN A MUSIC'S ONE , BUT WHAT A WARM SOUND AND OFTEN ASTONISHING ARTWORK!
BESIDES HOW CAN YOU ASK FOR AN AUTOGRAPH IF YOU HOLD A CD COVER AND DON'T HAVE A MAGNIFYING GLASS IN YOUR POCKET?(AUTOGRAPHING OST'S IS DIFFICULT BUT CHALLENGING).
KINDRED SPIRITS CONTACT ME POSSIBLY...

I'm collecting LP's by my few favorite French composers. Indeed they are much nicer than CD's, and also often unreleased on CD.
You have any autographed vinyls ? Tell us more !

So how the hell's it goin'!
Whenever possible I prefer vinyl over Compact Discs!
The Italian, French and Japanese pressings as far as I'm concerned rival the sound quality of any other format.
Not to mention the old RCA Red Seal and Dynaflex recordings.
A while back while walking down Lincoln Blvd in Venice California I stopped in a second hand store and poked around a stack of LP's.
Found an autographed copy of Ernest Gold's music from "Ship Of Fools" for a dollar!
I'll take a nice vinyl recording over a Compact Disc any day of the week!

Although I have been enjoying a good many CD's recently even tho' the liner notes are a bitch to read.
Almost impossible at times!

And how can we be sure CD's will last a long time? I once had to trade in a number of
JOS CD's of John Scott's music for Cousteau films because they were so badly
manufactured that they turned gold and became unplayable. They would supply new
pressings that were better for free, but nobody knows what they will do in 30 years.
Saving them on iPods doesn't do much good either, just listen to the loss in quality!
I have a couple of Nicola Piovani LP's autographed when he visited Holland for a
filmfestival. The cover of La Trace is really good and if they would release it on CD (they
never did) not much would remain of the artwork. This one by the way is also sought
after by collectors of comicbooks because it was done by Giraud, the artist of the western
series 'Blueberry'.

When vinyl works (find recording, masterly cutting, virgin pressing), one wonders why CD was ever invented! The shortcomings of vinyl are more than compensated by their strengths. I'm interesting in trading and/or selling, so don't hesitate contacting me. (Sad news: the Italian label Dagored will no longer be pressing its wonderful Morricone series on 180 gram vinyl.)

Are you still acquiring vinyl? If so, maybe you'd like to see my current Offerings List? Write to me at ajvin9@yahoo.com.

Greetings OST collectors. I have a rare Lionel Newman Promo 45 on eBay with a very cheap starting price right now and I wanted to share the link with you all. I am a collectory of jazz, soul, and rock on vinyl and put up pieces that I acquire but have no general use for cheap on eBay.

The formatting of the post won't make that whole line into a link. You'll have to copy and paste.
If this is an inappropriate post, please redirect me to where the most useful place to inform you folks is. I just came across your forum via a google search.
Thanks,
joel
