Don't know why I can't find that song. The closest thing I found is "Late In The Evening" by Paul Simon; it's excellent!

I'd also like to find this one. Has anyone found the actual soundtrack song?

My one-time comment: I remember this merengue song very well and one version had lyrics. I think the beginning was "Baile, baile merengue" or "Dance, Dance the Merengue" but since I do not speak Spanish I do not know what the other words were. "Baile Merengue" may be the song's title, but I could not find it on the Internet. Others say it was "Bamos, bamos merengue", or
Come on, come on (and dance the ) merengue". Cannot be of any more help than this, but it actually played on the radio years ago with lyrics.

Back again, after all. I watched the movie again and there are two separate merengue songs in My Blue Heaven with Steve Martin. I am certain that the first one, as previously noted, is titled Baile, Baile Merengue (bi-lay, bilay merengue, or dance, dance ((the)) merengue) and it had lyrics. The second song in the courtyard and on the beach is Shake, Shake Senora (Shake your body line) and it was sung by Harry Belafonte. It was in the film Beetlejuice. See and listen at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEy89l0SOZs It was also in Thye Nightmare Before Xmas, see & watch at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1BG2mhVum8

Sorry, but the second Merengue song is NOT "dance, dance Senoria" by Harry Belafonte! I have both of these Merengue songs, and I believe that they were created for the movie by Ira Newborn, however I just have audio copies from the DVD with talking and SFX, etc. Looking for the actual recordings, like everyone else! Actually, the second one was recorded from the DVD with no talking or feet dancing SFX, and sounds pretty good!

Merengue by michael lloyd & Le disc is the closest
mad_dj4, April 13, 2011; 2:03 AM

valenstar is correct. The exact song is Bruno's Merengue Mix. However, from personal experience of playing something sounding EXACTLY, and I mean EXACTLY like it, note for note was music called Lemon Merengue by Chris Crockarell.
techresponse, May 12, 2011; 2:27 PM

the dance scene in the bar is bruno’s merengue mix by ira newborn who wrote the song for the movie. get the mp3 here = http://www.mediafire.com/?gh2zuymdnnd.
the dance scene at the beach is something else. you can probably find it on limewire if you search for my blue heaven merengue.

This is for "yousef_salem" and yes I know this is
an old ass thread but still just in case you never
got it off the tip of your tongue. I think the song
that you remember has lyrics in it is a song
called; "Hot hot hot"
