I know expensive is not the same as rare, but this is interesting as well.

Probably TOKYO BLACKOUT by M Jarre.
Others also VERY rare are HOOSIERS and LIONHEART JAPAN editions, by Goldsmith.

Fright Night (Brad Fiedel, various artists), Reflex Records (Japan) - only 150 copies of this CD were pressed
The 'Burbs (Jerry Goldsmith) - Varese Sarabande CD Club
Red Sonja/Bloodline (Ennio Morricone) - Varese Sarabande CD Club
Link (Jerry Goldsmith) - Varese Sarabande CD
Runaway (Jerry Goldsmith) - Varese Sarabande CD
...and many more

Hello, the lionheart japan edition is very rare and I stumbled on a mint copy 3 weeks ago. 19 tracks by the late great Jerry Goldsmith. Anyway I sold it for $71.00 on EBAY some one in France is a very happy owner.

Adding to that list ..
"Teen Wolf" (German and Japan only official CD release)
"Manhunter" (MCA Records LP or tape)

A few of these are very rare:
Spacecamp, The Burbs, Teenwolf, Psycho II, Superman II & III, Jagged Edge, a few others.

Also adding to this list:
"Blue Nude" by Rovi aka Piero Umiliani, only released on Soundwork Shop as a sound library lp (one of 500).
The original "Hanged Man" score released as a sound library lp on Themes International by Alan Tew as Drama Suite parts 1 & 2. This sold in Japan for over $3,000! ( I bought mine at a thrift store for only $5.00!!!!!) There is still hope out there!
The Sign Of Aquarius score that I have nor have I ever seen since, wrongly titled Love Commune on the Collector's page. I paid $70.00 for it and it's worth every penny.
I'd never pay good money for a CD, since I think they're crap and destroy too easily.
