Incredibly strange scores
I don't know if you guys are into cheesy music or incredibly strange records (lounge, exotica, 60's electronica, Z movies soundtracks etc.) but anyway I'd like to know what's the weirdest, or the wildest, or the most fuc*!*-up soundtrack in your collection. I found the "Benji" LP yesterday in a garage sale for a quarter (remember Benji?)and I can't stop laughing...

Some of the strangest soundtracks in my collection include "Mondo New York," "Wolpodzilla," "The Eye-Popping Sounds of Herschell Gordon Lewis," all of the Russ Meyer compilations, "Deep Throat," "Orgy of the Dead"...shit, I could go on and on.
If there were a grade below "Z," that would be my favorite genre. (~_~)

My strangest is Godzilla Vs. your Mother by Michael Perilstein.

Perhaps Ron Geesin's THE BODY.
Also Heinz Kiessling's Oswalt Kolle: Das Wunder Der Liebe II - Sexuelle Partnerschaft. What a neat cover this 45rpm has.

I have a copy of the "Benji" soundtrack myself. To tell you the truth I've enjoyed smoking a joint and listening to the funky beat recuring theme tracks from time to time.
I also have the soundtrack to the sequel "For Love Of Benji"!
I suppose "The New World Of Stainless Steel" would rank on my list of strangest film recordings. One side features the score with narration describing the benifits of the awsome new space age product.
Most of my recordings are in storage some miles away so I'm relying upon memory here.
"Night Of The Living Dead" is a trip. Cues from two low low budget drive-in classics reworked by the producers of the Romero film into a first rate score for their film.
"You Gotta Walk It Like You Talk It Or You'll Lose That Beat". Performed by the Original Soundtrack (whatever that means).

A few more...
"The Wild Sounds of Satan's Sadists", a real sick bikers flick directed by the real sick Al Adamson.
"On Her Bed of Roses", another sick one, "based on Dr.Krafft-Ebing's "Psychopathia Sexualis" (I love the track title "Walk to Hell-Destruction."
A rather strange one : "To Keep This Land Alive." It's a kind of industrial movie about the Reimer trucks company. The slogan is : "We've got what it takes to take what you've got."

I'm aware of "On Her Bed Of Roses" score. My brother picked up a copy at a record shop in Santa Monica California awhile back.
Another curio is from Jazz Guitarist Mundell Lowell, "Satin In High Heels".
Aside from film scores some of the old L.P's from the 1950's with at times the most ridiculous covers contained the most exceptional music.
"Skins, A Bongo Party With Les Baxter". On the cover a photograph of a crew cut college jock looking guy banging on bongo's. The recording itself is one of the strangest and original set of tracks I have ever listened to.
Pete Rugolo's stuff on Emarcy records. Wild music!
Theres a recording entitled "Music For Peace Of Mind/Music Out Of The Moon" from Les Baxter and Billy May with a 50's era model
on the cover wrapped in thin plastic. I never have understood the significence of it yet the music is out of the world!

The soundtrack to Forbidden Planet, by Louis and Bebe Barron. An absolute classic, full of screeching and wailing. I loved it.

Ennio Morricones music for "When woman had tails" (quando le donne avevano la coda) is high spirited whacky fun music. I love to put this music on when cooking dinner.
His music for "Macchie Solari" is very experimental and has a special gloomy dynamic to it. I would classify that in the weird corner too!!
