DOOM composer?
Just wondering does anyone know who's going to score Universal's DOOM movie? Or do the filmmakers even know it yet? Let's hope they do, we don't need another cliche-bunch done in two days with a synth machine. No matter how bad the movie might turn out, the score has some potential to the best sci-fi action and horror crossbreeds for a long time, if done right (yeah, I have high hopes for it)...

Talking about DOOM game music, personally I really digged Chris Vrenna's "DOOM 3 Theme Song". It suited the game perfectly; It was metal-esque track to shoot things by, just like the ones of the original, only hell-of-a-lot darker and more atmospheric (just like the game). Song's talented Tool-alike technical semi-progressive wibes we're also perfect, kinda reflecting the talents behind the actual game.
If I was to decide the "DOOM 3 Theme Song" would also be the theme of the movie, at least for the end credits. It would suit the film, giving it has anything to do with the game anymore. AND I hope it will be on the film soundtrack also, as there hasn't been a proper version released from the song yet; Game's OGG file was in surprisingly poor quality and with my lo-tech LP player that limited 7" vinyl single doesn't sound much better...

Just I though I should post this; IMDb claims it's Clint Mansell scoring DOOM. Yeah!
