There are a couple of larger music/book stores in the centre of Rome. One is called La Feltrinelli, the other's name escapes me. You can't miss them though - they're both on the Via del Corso which is the main shopping street - a stones throw from the underground station's for either La Spagna or the Colloseum.

Got a few things when I was on vacation there last year - La Feltrinelli was especially good from some budget priced Morricone stuff.
