I have got both the Edel 2549-2 CD which you are asking for as well as the Fonit Cetra CDM 2097 3CD set which includes one track not on the former release (see http://soundtrackcollector.com/catalog/soundtrackdetail.php?movieid=2946).

However, in January I heard that a "La Piovra complete" 2CD set was prepared for release this year. So in your position I would not pay a lot for a used copy of the 1990/91 CD release. On the other hand, I haven't heard any update on the January news, so I don't know how far the expanded version is by now.

Thanks for the information! Then I guess I'll wait for the upcoming release.

Until then I'll try to survive with my incomplete mp3 album (17 tracks instead of 21). I
bought it from http://www.mp3search.ru/album.html?id=23393 (as I couldnt find it
elsewhere) and then found out it wasn't complete. Sniff. Hopefully I havnt missed any
really good tracks.

La piovra 2 has a french LP with tracks not on any cd (General Music) and the La Piovra fonit LP (italy) has also music not on the cd. The fonit cd from Italy has many copies with cd rot, the belgium pressing is good (same music)

Thanks for the warning, Sijbold. Fortunately my copy of the FonitCetra 3CD set seems to play perfectly fine so far, but some very small irregularities on the outer end of the track line on the disc surfaces made me make backup copies nevertheless.

By the way, how would "disc rot" look like? I would like to know if what I see on the disc surface is a progressing decline that will eventually result in the discs being un-playable or if these irregularities might have been there right from the start and did not change.

P.S.: Only just noticing - WHICH of the FonitCetra releases suffers from rot? The 3CD set (1996) or the Fonit Cetra CDL 263 (1990, same tracklist as Edel release)?

P.P.S.: The expanded re-release seems to be delayed a bit, seems like we won't see it before summer.

Intermezzomedia's 2CD set of LA PIOVRA is now said to be released in early 2006.
