It depends on what kind of soundtracks you prefer.
If you like Bill Conti's late 1970s and 1980s style (Rocky, For Your Eyes Only) you will probably like Christian Bruhn's TV soundtrack for the animation series CAPTAIN FUTURE (and maybe also PATRIK PACARD). Another very fascinating score from the 1980s is Klaus Doldinger's DAS BOOT which combines synths and orchestra in a very harmonious way.
There have been more traditional symphonic scores in recent years from a younger generation of German film music composers, but I cannot name any good recordings (just heard a lot of them in the great "Nacht der Filmmusik" - Night of Film music - in Munich last year). Bruhn did a nice little symphonic work for JACK HOLBORN, though it might sound just like a Williams clone to you.
I think most German composers work predominantly for TV. Releases often focus on children TV series (of the four releases I mentioned above, only DAS BOOT is NOT children TV).
I am not that familiar with Martin Böttcher (other than his impressive WINNETOU theme), but you might find fellow Soundtrack Collector Wilfried Wittkowsky's website for Böttcher interesting: http://www.martin-boettcher.net/mb2.htm
Böttcher is a bit more symphonic than Bruhn, but you might find that he also dwells on Easy Listening sometimes. I guess/hope Wilfried will come to Böttcher's rescue here and correct me... ;-)
