As far as I know the most obscure Mancini film music recording is a second volume of the "Touch Of Evil" score entitled "The Wild Side Of Henry Mancini" (1000 radio station copies/Challenge Records) with some tracks not available on the commercial soundtrack from Challenge as well.

Citadel combined the two for their release of the score from around 1980.

HI I HAVE A FINE MESS ON LP AND IT IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION HAVING BEEN ISSUED IN 1986 - I DON'T THINK IT WAS ISSUED ON CD - ONLY LP AND CASSETTE - IT CONTAINS ONE SCORE TRACK AND A MANCINI CO WRITTEN MAIN TITLE SONG PERFORMED BY THE TEMPTATIONS. ALSO TO MY KNOWLEDGE SANTA CLAUS DID NOT GET AN OFFICIAL CD RELEASE, ONLY LP AND CASSETTE THOUGH A BOOTLEG IS DOING THE ROUNDS AT THE MOMENT. AGAIN I HAVE SANTA CLAUS ON TAPE. LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE INTERESTED.

I'd love to get a hold of the Mancini tapes for his rejected score of Alfred Hitchcock's "Frenzy". Hitchcock's comments to Mancini: "Look, If I want Herrmann, I'd ask Herrmann. Where's Mancini?"
