THANKS... I HAVE IT TOO. I WOULD LIKE TO PURCHASE THE CD VERSION THOUGH. MY LP SOUND HAS WORN OUT THROUGH TIME. WAS THE CD SOUNDTRACK SOLD ONLY IN JAPAN? I HAVE NEVER SEEN IT IN ANY STORE OR IN ANY WEBSITE THAT ACTUALLY HAS IT IN STOCK. I'M JUST WONDERING... THE PEOPLE LISTED IN THIS SITE AS OWNERS OF THE CD... WHERE DID THEY BUY IT FROM? IT SEEMS LIKE A REAL COLLECTOR'S ITEM. THANKS ANYWAY!

That is because Japan can sell pretty much what ever they want. They are called bootlegs. They never got permission or liscensed it, they just put it on CD and maybe even ran it through a pressing plant.
If you got the LP, just go to moviemusic.com - it will cost a bit, but the site's owner, PeterK, will transfer it onto CD for you.

THANKS FOR THE INPUT... I MIGHT CONSIDER THE TRANSFER. EVEN THOUGH JAPAN DOES RELEASE A LOT OF BOOTLEGS, I DON'T THINK THIS PARTICULAR 'AIRPORT 1975' RELEASED BY MCA JAPAN RECORDS IS A BOOTLEG. AT LEAST IT IS NOT LISTED AS A BOOTLEG IN THIS WEBSITE. I DON'T THINK A RECORD COMPANY LIKE MCA ( MUSIC CORPORATION OF AMERICA ) WOULD RELEASE BOOTLEGS... UNLESS IT'S A DIFFERENT MCA?

The talk about Japanese bootlegs is all bunch of horsecrap. Japanese releases (in particular this title) is no bootleg at all, it was licenced and released only in Japan because they had exclusive rights over this recording. The Japanmese CD is a legitimate rlease, irepeat, a legal ,legitimate release. Thanks. This staement was not meant to deny the existance of bootlegs but definitely not the case with AIRPORT 75!

Hi, I own the AIRPORT 1975 soundtrack (Japan Import) on CD actually and I bought it
quite legally at Tower Records on Picadilly Circus in London back in 1996. Cost me about
35 pounds at the time. I've also seen it a month ago on a trip to San Francisco on Haight
Street (immense second hand retailer close to Ashbury St. and Golden Gate Park), so it is
still around.

Do you remember the name of the store by any chance?
sushislash, August 1, 2005; 4:09 AM

It's called AMOEBA Records on 1855 Haight Street. You might wanna call them at 1-415
-831-1200. I just came back from a shopping spree in Montreal and came across an LP
version of AIRPORT 1975. I can give you the coordinates of this copy as well if you like:
PULP Records on Avenue Mont Royal (between St. Laurent und St. Denis Streets)
