I agree that it is unusual so sell below the top amount you could get, but I consider it an "act of courtesy". I have also already sold / given away rare stuff for under its value.

Especially when nobody counts on it, it is nice to surprise somebody, I think :-)

Ah well, both arguments are valid - I just think it's nice when somebody for once doesn't try to squeeze the last dollar out of an opportunity.
