Movie -- Planes, Trains & Automobiles
Anyone know the name of the song played (electric guitar rock 'n' roll solo riff) in the movie when Del & Neal are in the back of the pickup truck (with the snappy dog) on the way to the rail station?
All info greatly appreciated.....thanks folks!!!! :)

It's been a while since I've seen the movie, but I believe that was score, not a song, by the film's score composer: Ira Newborn.
The score is unreleased.

I have just put together a comprehensive list of all the music played in Planes Trains & Automobiles, and during which scenes they appear.
The track you are after with the snappy dog is "Gonna Move" by Dave Edmunds. It is on the soundtrack.
Some of the music was specifically composed by Ira Newborn for the film, such as the race for the taxi, and the ride in the lorry, and I haven't yet located it anywhere other than on the film.
Give me a moment, and I'll post the list.
Isn't O.C.D. a pain :o) !!

This is the best list of the music in Planes, Trains & Automobiles I can offer at the moment.
I would say that the songs with ???'s were composed by Ira Newborn specifically for the film.
Also there are a few remixes available of Modigliani, but more importantly Power To Believe which were used in the film.
Deep breath.... :o)

Anyone know where the original score can be found? I don't mean the soundtrack, I'm specifically looking for the "bummer" music played over various establishing shots. Thanks!
