The last Film Score you purchased?
Hello,
Just wondering what was the last film score you purchased and how would you rate it? I bought the "Legend of Zorro" By James Horner the other day and I must say I was rather disappointed in it, I liked the last Zorro film score alot but this one is just the music from the first one rehashed. I wonder if that was Horner's doing or the powers that be making the film? I wish the film score had been offered to a different composer, Someone that might have done something fresh and exciting with it, I really like that genre. Oh well
Best Regards,
David Phoenix, AZ.

I bought The Greatest Story Ever Told by Alfred Newman (cd of the week at Buysoundtrax) and Loch Ness. Greatest Story is great!! I didn't really know that score but I heard it was very good and I'm not disappointed. 5 stars!
Loch Ness is not as good as I hoped but still very enjoyable. I rated it 4 stars.

No purchase this week, so my last addition was last week when I bought Georges Delerue's MAN TROUBLE, pleasant and nice score, but not better than average of his works though.

Purchased ´Far off place´by Horner and ,Lilies of the field´(Pendulum edition)
by Goldsmith. Horners score is much more better than his recent ones (e.G.
Legend of Zorro).

My most recent film soundtrack purchase was "The Beginner's Guide to Bollywood," a 3-CD box set that is separated into three categories: Vintage Bollywood, Funky Bollywood, and Modern Bollywood. I haven't listened to the 3rd disc yet (Modern), but the first two discs are absolutely AMAZING. Anyone who's interested can purchase this set from www.dustygroove.com for only $14.99.

I received today the "Ennio Morricone gold edition II" box. A wonderful compilation with a few inedit tracks, also received the complete "The Battle of Algiers" and the spanish "Le due stagioni della vita" all Morricone, with both extra music. Also the music is remastered and sounds a lot better now. All for sale at www.intermezzomedia.com

I just bought "Blue Thunder" (Super Tracks) by Arthur B. Rubinstein, and the sound quality is really great since we're talking about a 1983 movie...and soundtrack.

I recently purchased a second copy of "Psychedelic Sexualis (aka On Her Bed of Roses) and will sell my other copy if anyone is interested.
Definately almost a four star LP- great for late night drunkeness!
I also purchased "The New Life Sings The Sidehackers (aka Five The Hard Way)" for the first time after looking for it forever. It has a sleazy thriller track on it called "Psychedelic Rape"!? The nerve.....Mike Curb had a hand in this one too!!! Five Stars!
