I would agree with the Right Stuff, shoppingnell, but not that North And South version which was a 1985 re-recording made two years after the film came out with the LSO seemingly playing under sedation for "Yeagers Triumph". The original score to Right Stuff needs to be properly released - next varese club/ intrada special collection anyone? It did after all win an oscar for best score.

Baby boom, I wish some company would release a cd.

It has to be 'Escape to Victory' with that rousing march. Being a massive football fan and supporter of the most successful football team in English history, this one of my favourite films. Not just the cast but that 'B'movie feel about it and the tantrums on set with Sly. He was wondering why Pele was getting more attention than him!? Football translated for our North American colleagues is 'soccer', but a great score either way you cut it! We beat the Germans. Victoire! Victoire!

I really like F/X, think that it is a fine, a little bit underrated work. The coverart by Varese is (as always) fantastic.

Hello,
My favorite scores by Bill Conte of the ones I own are "Yellowstone" and "Slow Dancing in the Big City". I want to get "North and South" as well. I would love to see the following scores released: "By the Sword", "Judas",and "Escape to Victory".
Best Regards,

VICTORY

I really think that Bill Conti is very underrated, although his scores are unusually short.
If I had to limit my favourite to just one score I would vote for Victory. But I do also love Rocky and The Right Stuff score.

Although I like the Masters of the Universe gig for childhood value, I'd have to go with the score to the Thomas Crown Affair remake. Effortless and elegant....

GOTCHA!
Remember this cheesy teen movie from the 80’s?
Sure it’s not Bill Conti’s ultimate masterpiece.
But I like the score and I can’t help it...

It has got to be ROCKY
