SPHINX is his absolute masterpiece, but all his scores are great.

Michael J. Lewis is a composer who should get a bit more recognition for the quality of scores he produces. Although, I do not have his whole "discography", of the scores I do have SPHINX is a great listen, closely followed by his score for the Richard Burton movie THE MEDUSA TOUCH.

My choice for my favourite Lewis score may change though. I received his score for THE UNSEEN the other day but only had time to listen to the first 2-3 cues. This one sounds like it is going to be another favourite.

Without a doubt, my favourite film score by Michael J. Lewis is THEATRE OF BLOOD. An absolute master piece, closely followed by the delicious THE MADWOMAN OF CHAILLOT.

By the way, I'd like THE LEGACY to be released. I hope that Mr. Lewis will release it by himself, just like the rest of his discography.

Of those I know my favorites by the great Michael J. Lewis are THE MEDUSA TOUCH and THE PASSAGE.

THE MEDUSA TOUCH is my absolute favourite - one of the finest examples of electronics with orchestra in the history of film music. This closely followed by MJL's superb score for the 1979 animated version of THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE, his score for the documentary UPON THIS ROCK and the movies SPHINX and THEATRE OF BLOOD. Having said that, I've managed to get hold of all of Michael J. Lewis' film scores thus far released and there's something to enjoy in ALL of them - which is more than I can say for many of the more mainstream film score composers!
