TOP SECRET! has already sold out.
Damn, that was fast! Good thing I ordered it as soon as I woke up this morning. (^_^)

Ha!
Good thing I live in Switzerland. My morning is a few hours earlier than the morning in CA...:-))
The most extremely fast "sold out situation" I saw was also with Varése when they announced "True Confessions". If I remember correctly, it was sold out at noon (Swiss time!!!). "The Kindred" was sold out later that day also.
These days, I'm actually almost more anxious about their "rereleases"...
When will they release "The Burning, Cat's Eye, The Final Option, Martin, Night Of The Living Dead and Vamp"...?
Oh wait, Night has been released... Sorry.

And really, is it that good? I find it disturbing that Top Secret sold out hours after it was announced. Not that I wanted one (I really didn't), but if I did, this score is gone. Because 1000+ collectors wanted it? Nope. Because of the speculators and the on-line CD companies who will jack up the cost and sell it at a profit.
I know it's perfectly legal and America is built on business and free enterprise, but it still sucks. This is happened a lot to lesser scores (remember Sheena?) which leads me to believe that the collectors aren't really getting these CDs.
Speculators ruined the comic book market in the 90's. It's happening here now, too. Very frustrating...

Call it an old-fashioned attitude, but I agree with ssosmcin and what more, I don't like Varese because of their policy, which I know is 100% legal and okay, but it's not that okay for me. I'm tired of this behaviour of their super limited editions that last just few hours - you can say it's not their fault that there are many people interested in the CD but now I say it is, because after many equally fast batches they know perfectly what's going to happen (in my opinion, if the 1000-units were 'one per customer' immediately since the announcement, they would be also gone within few days, Varese's profit being the same). Yes it's their right to act as they do but it's also mine to act as I do. And thus I decided not to buy their releases except for those of particular interest for me - I'll rather buy from and support more "customer-friendly" labels. Period.
I probably sounds like a sour old geezer but that's just how I see it.
EDIT:
Cheers vodka_kayou, I agree that no online purchases or anything else beats the real music store !

This is silly.
Are we soundtrack collectors or soundtrack investors?
I may sound like an old fart, but I still buy my CD’s from RECORD STORES (remember those?) There’s still plenty of good stuff out there…

Oh well... "Top Secret" is sold out. Can you believe this? Damn!... grrrrrr!! Children, let us play a game now. Which title is next to evaporate? Envelope please! I predict... Good move American Nightmare! P.S. Vodka kayou, you said a mouthfull. I couldn't agree more.

I have just ordered the album and I think they have more.

Whatever happened to the days where you could just buy a soundtrack because you liked the music & just wanted to listen to it, instead of buying it & then re-selling it for outrageous prices when it is sold out??
I fortunately already have TOP SECRET! on cassette & the track listing is the same; the sound quality may not be CD caliber, but I still like it.
It would be nice if those that bought other soundtracks that are now sold out would not offer $100+ for them for those of us that can't afford those prices. I am sure when they bought them they only paid a fraction of those costs before they were sold out. I would like to acquire PREDATOR, DIE HARD & some of the sold out FSM TITLES, but unless I am willing to fork out A LOT OF MONEY for them I will never have them, unless I win the lottery or something & can afford those OUTRAGEOUS prices they offer.
As far as SHEENA goes, that is another one I have on cassette which is identical to the CD release.

Hello,
I see that Intrada is selling the "Top Secret" score (One per customer) for those who would like to try again. I think the best of the new releases i've heard of so far is the "Ace High"(I Quattro Dell'Ave Maria) 2cd by Rustichelli, Sounds like a winner.
Best Regards,
David Phoenix, AZ.

And now intrada have also sold out. It really pisses me of how these scumbags buy 6 or more of these, so the people who really want copies of a specific title lose out. You can see it on ebay now, the seller gloats "This is the rare and out of print title that sold out in three hours. Only $39.99 starting bid $60.00 for buy itnow. " and I will say oh, just burn it hell!! Today I went to the wesbite, which I usually visit (but missed yesterday cause I am involved in making my own film!) and saw that the best one they had was Top Secret, and why is it the best soundtrack is also the one that is pressed in units of only 1,000 I also hope they get lost in the post, espcially if you ordered more than one. Sorry to be so blunt, but it annoys me. Well that's me done people I'm off. Cheers, James
