Hm,

I know we all *guess* his other CDs are fake too, but does anyone know for certain? If yes, we could write to Varèse and all concerned labels and let them know. I am quite positive they will take action then. Ebay will also take action when they get regular emails from record companies. Any other ideas?

Best,
Burnie

Mr. David Wong's listings are all clever counterfeit, pirate CD-R's!

Since the auctions are now private, we can't even warn the potential buyers, dammit...

Some people might not mind buying CD-R's at ridiculous, unheard of prices. Some buyers do not know how to cautiously and intelligently bid on eBay and get burned. Always remember though that one can report items one believes are pirate CD-R's to eBay. The eBay community protects the eBay community. Ebay does not by itself. Ebay needs feedback from people. Go to eBay's home page and clik on 'help' located on the top next to 'community' and on the next page clik on 'contact us' located on the left side of your screen under 'eBay help'. On the page that appears check on 'listing violations' and clik continue. Here, on step one choose 'counterfeits and copyright violations', on step two choose 'bootlegs and counterfeit media' and finally on step three choose 'media on recordable formats' and clik 'continue'. On the page that will appear on your screen clik on 'e-mail' and you're done! Here, one could report up to 10 items #'s at once who believes are pirate CD-R's. You simply type in the item #'s and nothing more. Very, very simple. The more reports Ebay receives concerning pirate CD-R's the more chances for a seller to have their illegal auctions stopped or even more so to have the seller suspended!... *DO IT!*

just make a note of the auction numbers and see if he lists the same cds again, surely ebay will pick up ( if we keep telling em ) just how difficult it would be to have multiple copies ( no pun intended !!! ) of a particular rare score.

Have just informed Alan-Silvestri.com about our dear Mr Wong. I'm hoping they send a warning out to all their members preventing more people from being deceived by this guy. May be more people among us know of soundtrack fan sites and will do the same and warn them. The more people know of these counterfeits the less he will be selling.
All the best to all except you know who !
