KONG MUSIC AS HEARD IN THE FILM !
Just seen Kong last night here in the UK and thought it to be a magnificent spectacle! I also appreciated James Newton Howards work much more in the film than on the album, i thought it worked very very well, especially the skull island portions. I would like to know what you lot thought and what you would of hoped for if Howard Shore had concluded his version. And after hearing in the film do you think the JNH version was a success?

I saw the film the other day. It was purely entertaining. I liked JNH scoring too. I thought that perhaps too much of it was used throughout the movie but again it is an entertaining action packed movie. It keeps your eyes and ears busy. It is something like a roller coaster ride. The basic theme film music was good. Also the scoring throughout was very diverse and rich. I would not be suprised if it gets an oscar nomination. I have not bought the cd album yet but I wonder if every piece of film scoring including the songs are on the cd? Can it stand as film music by itself or does one need to see the movie to appreciate it?
