Question

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

Does anyone know the name of the music that is played during the scene in which Steve Martin leaves John Candy at the final train station and he (Steve Martin) then has flashbacks of all the little things John Candy said that help him realize that John Candy is alone. I thought I heard that same music (it's instrumental, by the way, at least the part they use) in a commercial today and I really like it. It's sort of melancholy.
Thanks, anyone!

If my memory is good, I think this is the instrumental version of "Power to Believe" (1987)
written by Nick Laird-Clowes and Gilbert Gabriel and performed by The Dream Academy.

He's right, those this version might be arranged by the film's main composer, Ira Newborn.

(Or maybe it was Brain Banks or Anythony Marianelli)

This is definately the original Dream academy track, "power to believe" but what they used in the movie is the original instrumental version, I don't believe it excists on cd, only the vocal version is available.
I hope this helps!

The song is available on the soundtrack which was only released on LP. In the film this is the
instrumental extension of the song.
