Amazing !

It's the least you can say, because now we have to make a difference between "high quality boots" and nasty counterfeits !

Let's face it: bootlegs exist since recordings do exist, in the '60s you were able to buy bootleg-LPs of for instance Miklós Rózsa scores and there was no ebay around ! We will never get rid of'em ! And let's be honest which one of us never has bought an "extended" or "limited previously unavailable" or "archival" and whatever they call themselves bootleg ?

Serious collectors should inform themselves, consult sites like this excellent one, read soundtrack magazines and all other info sources available. A well informed collector will be able to make the difference between a boot and a regular release. The warnings posted on this site do prove this: most of us can make the difference.

But we are helpless when confronted with cleverly made counterfeits ! We only get aware of the frauds when we hold the CD in our hands. Criminals who sell these products must disappear and it's our duty to inform the soundtrack collector community of every single one we will detect.

Happy collecting 2006 !
