Fake edition. Most likely soundtrack taken from special edition DVD with isolated score track.

Definitely cd-r boot. Avoid like a plague! I'm sure it's another nasty bootleg made in Germany. It's easy to identify that crap by font and that typical, awful cover design.

ETHAN THE SEARCHER is an excellent seller! I have done business with them in the past and have been completely satisfied. I believe they are located in Spain. No... I believe their intentions are honorable. Even though this cd might be an unofficial release or "bootleg" at least it is not a counterfeit CD-R advertised as the authentic, original bla bla bla... It is an authentic illegal but legit "bootleg"... Get my drift?

yep, this is one of those buy if u want, ur not neccesarily throwing ur money down lav but is still a bit .......iffy !

Personally baby, I love all my leather cowboy boots and also ALL my "bootleg" cd's and LP's!... What is a "bootleg" for Pete's sake? Perhaps my grasp of the term "bootleg" is different from yours. In any case, KNOWINGLY I purchase and get the chance to listen to lots of unreleased or extended film music as plenty of film music fans and collectors do that could not otherwise be heard since the so called official and legal releases do not and most probably will never exist on the so called official and legal market. Notice I state KNOWINGLY!... I knowingly might purchase a so called "bootleg release", a so called "unofficial release", a so called "illegal release". Call it whateeever pleases you! In other words, film music that is otherwise unavailable. Though I absolutely and simply do not like being fooled and UNKNOWNINGLY purchasing, especially at a hefty price, a so called authentic official CD release that is perhaps sold out or out of print and hard to find and having it turn out to be a counterfeit CD-R or to put it bluntly... a KNOCKOFF! Get my drift now? ;-)

Of course, if you knowingly buy a boot, it's "only" an illegal transaction. Cool if you can live with that.
(well I guess I'm the last one to say something here)

definitely a bootleg but its not a cdr, its fair to tell all the truth, the disc is factory pressed, i know cause i saw it however to be fully fair I also think that the seller of this item, whoever he is must be of Carpathian descent, with such prices I am inclined to think the guy is a bloody vampire!!! some people are just increidible!
baalgehenna, January 13, 2006; 1:27 AM

wohoooo, just keep on checking the list of other items for sale by this guy, i stopped thinking he is a vampire, I am not sure the guy is high on coke! bloody hell i am buying the 2 Predator he has for sale, at such bargain prices ($132 and $185) who could resist!!!! It's one of my favourite film-scores true and its true that I already have it so I don't need to buy it vut if i didnt have it I wuldnt be so crazy to pay such prices to this lunatic whoever this may be!
baalgehenna, January 13, 2006; 1:32 AM

You know Godwin that he's been practising these prices for a long time so many people probably are buying the stuff from him. And he obviously has many copies of all the items.

Here are my two cents:
I own this particular "release" of the Legend Score. Yes, it is a bootleg. Yes, it sounds great and the packaging is pretty nice (except for the obviously hideous front cover). It's a factory pressed CD.
Why I bought it: I own the original vinyl edition of the Legend score and missed the official re-release on CD. The official CD edition pops up on eBay on a regular basis but fetches very high prices - too high for me for a CD version of a score I already own on vinyl that doesn't even have any bonus tracks. So when this particular release showed up (for a much lesser price), I didn't hesitate to buy it. And I don't regret it. If ever there would be an official rerelease of it with the same tracks, I would buy it also and get rid of the bootleg. That is my philosophy on bootlegs with "expanded" tracks or unreleased recordings.
That said, I think the guys that released this (and countless others, always with the more or less same sort of design - color booklet with b/w print inside and b/w inside print of the inlay and "label names" referring directly or indirectly at the movie itself) always do a pretty decent job in mastering / compiling the material. Of course, that's stretching the word "decent" a bit in many ways...:-)
I think that the rights holders of official out-of-print CDs that fetch high prices as "collectables" should have an eye on the market values of their OOP titles and re-release some of them when they notice that prices go up drastically. That way, they could almost eliminate the threat of bootleggers and (which is much, much worse) counterfeiters. This would be way more productive than to sit around with hot heads and swear at all the bootleggers out there (I'm still talking about the rights holders and not us collectors, O.K.?).
It's about time the labels get more awake and flexible on this subject, since they already have the recordings, artworks etc. and could reprint a title almost within days. This would make it much more hard for counterfeiters to sell their cheaply made and self-printed CDRs to unsuspecting eBay bidders.
Just my humble opinion.
Best,
Burnie

This is of course and very obvious a bootleg but on the other hand these cd's are pretty well made the soundquality is good most of the time.
Some cd's are not so nicely done, like The Deep, which has some annoying cuts, I think they used a vinylrecord but couldn't remove some clicks properly,so they deleted some fragments just like that also the last days and the last boyscout are missing some nice cues/tracks. Compare to another boot!
other than that I am also not ashamed to tell you guys that I too buy them from time to time because this is the only way to buy these scores that you normally can't get anywere or sometimes only on Ebay for crazy prices. think about Days of thunder and Thelma and Louise, they are so cool!!
If they get proper releases I will definately buy the original cd's of course as I normally only buy original stuff.

Hi Dorian, yes I saw the guy's listings and that's why I am now sure the guy is a vampire! Could someone please lend me a stake to drive through this guy's heart? hahahaha, I think he guy does nto even have a heart anyway! and yes to whoever said some of these boots are well done I agree, it's not the manufacturer of theseoots I am against but the individuals who take advantage of people not knowing where to get them and sell them atthe most obsecene prices I've ever seen. Come on get real!!!! but then again it's also the fault of some collectors that buy at theseprices, thus doing they are jsut saying ok this price is fair enough! ok so where is that stake??? yes ill also be neding a jatchet, the manual of the vapirehunter says one must als osever the vampire's head. MY KINGDOM FOR A STAKE AND A HATCHET!!!! hahahaha!
baalgehenna, January 14, 2006; 4:33 PM

Thanks to all for the answers. So it's only a good bootleg.... I hope to get in the future a genuine complete edition of Tangerine Dream's Legend...
