Question

Why is John Addison neglected these days?

From his 1963 Oscar winning TOM JONES until 1977 and A BRIDGE TOO FAR most of his assignments got an LP release but after that and before 1963......zilch!
Everyone knows the theme to REACH FOR THE SKY but the other incidental music is brilliant as well. Why haven't Chandos records (who i've lobbied) released an album of his work as they have for Alwyn, Rawtenstall, Addinsell, Ron Goodwin, Malcolm Arnold (and Stanley Black for goodness sake - who I regard as a very lightweight composer) It is time to redress the balance and get some of his LP's backon to CD

I really would like an official release of ´Swashbuckler´,one of my favourites of the 70´ies.

I'd like to see all of Addison's work available on CD, especially THE HONEY POT, SMASHING TIME, TOM JONES (Natch!)--The score that beat the blockbusters at the Oscars (CLEOPATRA, IT'S A MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD WORLD, THE GREAT ESCAPE, 55 DAYS AT PEKING).
