TRAUMA / PINO DONAGGIO
HI!... Just received in the mail the cd ''TRAUMA'' by Pino Donaggio. It is the new one with 26 tracks released in 2004 by Cinevox with label # CD MDF 358. In my cd in the last 26th track the 'Trauma Suite' in the third minute of the track (3:36 to be exact) I hear something like a digital 'TIK' sound (I don't know how else to describe it) that is no way part of the music. Is this a defect in my particular cd or is the whole lot of Cinevox releases with this label CD MDF 358 like this??? Whoever has this particular cd release please check!... I'll appreciate it!! I know it might sound as a minor detail but it annoys me. It is not supposed to be there damn it! I'm wondering if I should return the cd and get another. I hate when this happens. It's such a pain to go through the return process since I bought it from an internet store. Perhaps this noise defect was the reason why this 10 minute plus track was not included in the first Cinevox release. I don't know. I doubt it. It is too good of a track not to include it in any release though. Anyway, what causes these funny sound defects in cd's? Is it a common problem? *Thanks in advance!!*

Thanks! I purchased it from Dusty Groove. I was getting ready in writing up the envelope to return it until I noticed your message since Dusty Groove agreed to store credit. Most probably it's a factory defect. I'll notify Cinevox... Damn shame!

I just recieved this score the other day too. I'm on a bit of a Donaggio kick at the moment (got the Omen-esque Catacombs as well).
I noticed the tik too, but I let it go. It's less than a second of badness in a truly tremendous 65 minute score, so I can live with it.
I can see how it would piss some people off, though.

I'm really suprised that a serious record label like Cinevox let it get distributed like this. It is surely something that could have been fixed and not gone unoticed especially on a new and unreleased track such as this one. It is the gem of this new edition!

I just love Ruby Rain and the various orchestrations of it throughout the album.
I saw the film years ago and was unimpressed even in my unenlightened, 14 year old eyes, but I bought the score based on my present love for Donaggio.
I was not disappointed.

Even though I have not yet seen the movie it is a good and powerful score. I myself also like Donaggio. What the heck, it seems all second releases of Trauma have this sound defect in the last tract which is definetely not from the masters. I'll keep it and perhaps purchase the next release, if ever released, with hopefully more tracks and absolutely no sound tiks this time around.
