Emmanuelle soundtrack

HI!

Please put my mind to rest because i'm pulling my hair out with this one...

Emmanuelle soundtrack is composed by Pierre Bachelet, right?

I've found different information about the collaborators for the soundtrack so does anyone know what part does Francis Lai or Herve Roy play in that soundtrack?

IMDB (often wrong) states that Francis Lai was uncredited collaborator. Some websites state that the soundtrack is by Pierre Bachelet and Herve Roy.

Francis Lai's website doesn't say anything about composing anything for Emmanuelle (only for the part 2).

Ps. i've read that Pierre Bachelet died in 2005. I guess Francis Lai is still active?

Hi,
a good question, this is what I think about it:
- I have the first EMMANUELLE on LP (the original Barclay edition). While the front covers credits "Musique de Pierre Bachelet", on the record label all of the cues are credited to Pierre Bachelet AND Hervé Roy (plus one credit to Howard Laikley for the lyrics of the English song version). No mention of Lai, who I believe had nothing to do with this first movie. I haven't seen the movie so I don't know who is credited in the titles, however I think it's very common that IMDB shows an errorneous information here and there.

- I don't have a soundtrack from the part 2, but I've seen the movie and in the titles the music is credited -if my memory is correct- to Francis Lai ONLY. IMDB shows here Bachelet too, who at this time I think worked with Just Jaeckin (the director of the first part) on L'Histoire d'O.

And yes it's true that Pierre Bachelet died last year. A sad loss, he didn't write much movie scores (he was also a song writer) but he did some really good, and not only for the adult genre.
Francis Lai is indeed still active in his seventies.

And a bit of trivia which you maybe know, the director Just Jaeckin originally asked Serge Gainsbourg to write the music for the first EMMANUELLE - but Serge refused and later, when the movie proved to be a success, highly regretted that decision (and got to work on the music of "Goodbye Emmanuelle").

Thank you very much for your reply!
