What is DVD Isolated Score (for Legend of the Fall)???
Hi, i would like to know what does it mean when it says "DVD Isolated Score"? I am looking for the 2CD DVD Isolated score of Legends of the Fall but is it original or is it a bootleg? What about all the other DVD Isolated Scores? aRe they official? Does anyone have Legends of the Fall?

There are no "official" releases of isolated DVD scores. As Urs/handstand says, they are simply rips of the music only soundtrack of the DVD. And a DVD can have several tracks of sound: The usual with SFX, but in different languages and the the "isolated score". So far i've found and bought 17 of these DVDs.
In my opinion, the main advantage with these isolated scores is that you get to hear the music as it was used in the film and not what was officially released. Most of the time there are quite a few differences between the two. For example tracks joined together for longer tracks, tracks in a different order and so on.

The DVD Isolated Score is taken from the DVD that lets you choose a "music only" track instead of the normal movie sound (dialogue, noises, music). That means this DVD allows you to watch the motion picture and listen to the music only (if you want so) at the same time.
If someone offers a 2CD version of the LEGENDS OF THE FALL soundtrack, it is ripped from the DVD, thus slightly but noticable worse sound quality (more "white noise") than the regular soundtrack CD. Such a 2CD version would be definitely a bootleg.
For your information, the DVD's music only track has around 16-17 minutes of more music than the regular soundtrack CD.
