Young Sherlock Holmes on Ebay..is it real?

Hi, saw this item on ebay (item number 4844094835). It says that this is the Intrada release of Young Sherlock Holmes but if you look at the pictures of the CDs, it looks like a CD-R. Certainly looks suspicious...can someone confirm my suspicions?

I would say its a boot - i had a genuine one of these and the cd's themselves were all printed professionally black with the holmes wording in red and cd code number as well as other details. - much like the cover art.
If the discs are fake , as they look like those "Archival Edition" cdr's that crop up from time to time, then it stands to reason the artwork is as well, though its a good copy but the cd's give it away.

Hi,

don't buy from this seller! This is a CD-fake! I know that, because I have the original. The seller "Doodle-fecker" is popular in selling good CD-R fakes. Not so far away, he has sold the A.I. 2CD Oscar Promo, but that was a CD-R fake, too, because my brother has the original and the original has a different CD-label and it hasn't a backcover, not this Edition, that he had sold. Avoid him, but if you are glad with a good CD-R fake, then it is OK.

Yup, that was my initial response. But the seller provided pictures and the inserts looked genuine. To be frank, I have the original and I paid big money for it. Just kind of looking around to see how much it's worth nowadays....Wonder why bidders out there are still willing to pay big $ for CD-Rs like this...

The colors on the CDs appear to be a simple function of lighting and photography that are common in looking at pressed CDs, so I don't think that alone indicates CDRs. Still, an image of the recorded sides as suggested, should confirm. I once had this set, but sold mine a year or so ago. The images here look legitimate to me, but of course without seeing the actual items first-hand, I can't be absolutely certain. You might try a search on soundtrackcollector.com to see who has it in their collection, then try emailing somebody who has it to see if they would compare the eBay images to their own copies for you.

I used to own this CD as well (sold it over a year ago), and like Mt. Butcher said, I remember that the original discs were professionally printed with black, red, and white graphics on the non-playing side, similar to the front cover of the booklet insert. I could be wrong, but the first time that I saw the discs in that auction I had a feeling that something was not right with them.
