Colossal Records
Hi everybody !
Anyone out there who knows about Colossal Records (Varèse) ? Do they still exist, how did they come into being, what were their other releases (except XCD-1003, 1004, 1005, 1008, 1009 which I own) and has anybody one of the others for sale ?
Thanks, pals !

They also produce there own titles. They even sale on eBay with ID soundtraxxclub. Recently they were auctioning genuine brand new and sealed EXTRA RARE Varese titles received as backorders from one of their distributors at excellent prices like Jaws 2, Chinatown, Dark Star, Earthquake, The Thing, The Fury, and The Eiger Sanction. M. Butterfly, CitySlickers, Needful Things are still available.

Colossal records is not Collosseum it was/is a branch of varese I think .They released a few cds in th 90's.The only ones I think I have are 'A Show Of Force'by Delerue and 'Phantom of The Opera 'by John Addison.Produced by Robert Townson.

Something did'nt seem right. The label numbers listed by zomb did not seem like Colosseum label numbers. I never heard of this record label. Maybe they changed from Colossal to Colosseum???

Damjamcar is right. "Colossal" was a short living branch of "Varèse Sarabande".
With this label, Robert Townson helped to certain composers to release their scores, but the composer had to pay an important part of the expenses of the edition. It was something similar to nowadays promotional editions, but commercially distributed.

...according to Soundtrack Collector: XCD 1001 is Ernest Troost's "Tiger Warsaw" LP - XCD 1006 is Philippe Sarde's "Eye Of Destruction" CD released in 1997...

Colossal 1001 Ernest TROOST Tiger Warsaw
Colossal XCD 1003 Vladimir COSMA Till We Meet Again
Colossal XCD 1004 John ADDISON Phantom Of The Opera, The
Colossal XCD 1005 Georges DELERUE Show Of Force, A
Colossal XCD 1006 Philippe SARDE Eve Of Destruction
Colossal XCD 1009 Michael TAVERA Frozen Assets
They are all early 90's releases. So there passed a lot of time since then and I've never seen any reference to the remaining numbers 1002, 1007, 1008... no idea if they exist at all.

Thanks for some news, guys !
I knew Colossal was a branch of Varèse but did not know how many CDs they have made over the years. Seems they vanished and won´t return. Perhaps one day I´ll get the rest of them - at least it´s Varèse !
Hang on !
