Highest price ever for a soundtrack CD?

Does anyone have any idea what's the highest price ever paid (on ebay and other sources) for a soundtrack CD? I'll let you know later but I think I have the CD in my collection.

There's been recently Brokeback Mountain Oscar promo CD sold on ebay for about $1200. I can't imagine anyone paying much more for anything.

This is the soundtrack that I was referring to: BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN and I have it! It sold on ebay on Mar-12-06, the winning bid being $1,025.00. It was in the "For Your Consideration" package of soundtracks that the Academy Music Branch sent me this year. When I started getting emails about it after I had commented on the 22 track score on another website, I decided to investigate. You're right, though. Even if it were the ENTIRE original score from LAWRENCE OF ARABIA, I never would pay THAT MUCH!!

...USD$1,025.00 for a soundtrack is a hefty price but I think that ''Cherry 2000'' sold for more!

Believe it or not, coma, I have no intention of parting with it as I like the score very much so you can go back to sleep and dream about Carter Burwell.

Brokeback Mtn

Since it did win best score you'd think they would release the full score on a sep CD even if it does seem repeatitive.

I can't argue with you there! If you drift into his path, ask him to get someone to release THE DAY OF THE LOCUST on CD!

Highest ever has been Cherry 2000. An original Varese Cd Club once sold for more than $2000.

The Persuaders! have music by Ken Thorne, not John Barry.

Oh yes I just felt like hair-splitting a little. Sorry for that.

Anyway the Thorne's tracks from the series score are what SHOULD be released on CD.

How about the $ 430 for a Blood In Blood Out ? Was sold on eBay in 2004, as far as I remember.
I, too, heard about the $ 2.000 for Cherry 2000 and had to be rudely awakened from dreaming of some cute little island in the Caribbean for selling the rest of my Varèse club CDs ... ;o).
I am not able and won´t pay these amounts of money for a score - mostly because I´m a quivering weakling fearing the consequences my wife would offer me if I would ...
On the other hand it´s much more fun to keep one´s eyes open and unearth unexpected scores anywhere - sometimes for very little money. One day I got hold on High Road To China for a mere five bucks !
Hang on, guys !
Dirk
P.S.: Anyone selling or trading Blood In Blood Out or The Black Cauldron ?

Why would you pay that much for Brokeback Mountain's Oscar Promo when you can download it for free of the internet. lol

BTW, does anyone know the order the tracks were put on the cd? I am interested in knowing the track list in its original order.

The Persuaders! was mentioned previously. I am sort of loosing hope that the whole soundtrack will ever be released, so I thought to record the sound from the DVDS..better than nothing I would say.
Could anybody advise on the best way of how to do this? I wanted to transfer it to my cd or/and pc.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
