Question

Who is the composer for "the object of beauty" 1991

Well after several tries on differents sites some names came up
trevor jones (soundtrackcollector)
tom bahler (soundtrackcollector + imdb)
maurizio colonna (on the cd itself) -> attenti al ladro (italian release name)

so which one has composed the music? is there a different score for the US release and the european one ?

thx for any info

Answers

right, but you did not answer the question. you have only read soundtrackcollector database or imdb.
As i said i own the cd for this OST and it says that the composer is maurizio colonna not tom bahler...
see ta maurizio collonna website : http://www.mauriziocolonna.com/colonna.htm

any link for your answer ?

The official film poster lists also trevor jones as the composer.
but it seems that you didn't go on maurizio colonna website: he is the composer and the perfomer (as guitarist).

and for you information coma: i said that i own the cd which means that i have also the inserts...and it's the same movie!!!

btw: the big blue, legend and lately la marche de l'empereur (march of the penguins) have different soundtracks for their US releases.

According to IMDb ''The Object Of Beauty''(aka Les Imposteurs)/1991, France and ''The Deceivers''(aka Les Imposteurs)/1988, France and ''The Impostors''(aka Les Imposteurs)/1998, Canada/France are three different movies. Which one are you referring to? For ''The Object Of Beauty''/1991 starring John Malkovich and Andie MacDowell music score there are two composers. They are Billy Barber(???) and Tom Bahler. http://movies.msn.com/movies/movie.aspx?m=28422

no... High-Order-Logic... Dearest tomzecat, April 1st is a few days further down the road... According to Soundtrack Collector ''Object Of Desire'' by Trevor Jones... apparently no such thing on his official website. It could be very well be a misprint on Soundtrack Collector's part. Not everything they list is engraved on stone. No other explanation. As far as the poster goes, that is probably a misprint as well which would make it highly collectible, unless you are viewing the poster upside down or sideways. ''The Object Of Beauty'' aka ''Attenti Al Ladro'' in Italian is composed by Tom Bahler featuring apparently the guitar virtuoso Maurizio Colonna and probably Billy Barber on piano who might have contributed on the music score as well. Any other logical explanation? This cd has probably been only released in Italy(???). Is Eartha Kitt on it by any chance? ...zerifiot :- )

I see... The suspense is too much. If possible, could you please scan the CD's front and back inserts and send us the pictures please. P.S. Perhaps there was a score by Trevor Jones that was rejected for this classic after the movie posters were printed?

According to the imdb (Italian Ministry of Dips and Beverages) he started much earlier under the
name of Giuseppe Gorgonzola and scored such amazing avantgarde flicks as Per Un Pugno Di
Fromaggio, Il Mio Nome E Carbonara and Il Grande Saltimbocca which inspired a whole
movement later known as Spaghetti Western...

:- ))))))))))))) Even though I like both Malkovich and MacDowell I do not recall ever watching or hearing anything about this film. ''Attenti Al Ladro!'' Musica Di Trevor Jones is what is indeed written on the Italian VHS case. I don't know about the CD soundtrack (which was once available) but tomzecat please do scan the insert pictures and send them to this forum. If not possible, submit them to the site. Perhaps there could have been two seperate music scores... or God forbid... MOOOOOORE!
