DELAY IN VARESE CLUB CDS
Is it me or are other people experiencing delays in receiving their CDs, from the recent release of club CDs? Mine are supposed to have been posted on 16/03/06 but have yet to arrive. I emailed Varese, they are very damn terse, and posed the questioned as to when the CDs were posted and when I may expect them (guess!). I got a response of 'Your order shipped on 16th March - John Vargas', end of!

I don't tend to order my Club CDs from Varese direct but opt to use online stores such as SAE.
I ordered the Delerue CD with a bunch of other stuff a day or two after their release was announced and I think that SAE only received the Delerue disc the middle of last week - a few days after their announcement. Maybe it took a few days longer for them to ship them out?

I ordered mine within minutes of them being posted on the Varese site. They were shipped the 16th and I received them on the 22nd in metro Detroit. On the flip side I have an Ebay seller shipping me a copy of Take a Hard Ride which has yet to arrive although it was mailed from the UK on March 14th.

I posted the same question last week...I ordered my cds on the 9th of March and today the status is still "In Process". I don't know why it is taking them so long :(
Is it true that they will send you an email when the order is dispatched?

I have always received an email advising of shipment.

I have purchased the Varese Club CDs since they were first offered CDs by mail order. I'm in California so to get them in the mail should be pretty quick.
After the renewal of the club with HEARTBEEPS, PROJECT X, and MARIE WARD I found Varese's service lacking. Intrada (which is local to me) had the titles in stock before I got mine. I ordered them at 12:05AM the morning of the announcement. I was not to happy with this and complained to Varese and they did not care. I got the same kind of message as one of the other posters got. In fact one message was down right rude. To be honest FSM was exactly the same way. They both appeared to be more interested in selling in bulk and allowed the single orders to take second place.
It was at this time, I stopped ordering directly from Varese. I now purchase all the Varese Club titles from Intrada. I received my current batch before several of you had posted that you still hadn't received yours. It's very frustrating to be a collector and to get that kind of service from record labels supposedly catering to collectors is uncalled for.
On the flip side, my (and I suppose other collectors) complaining to FSM finally saw a change where I did start getting my titles before Intrada. That was until they started to be distributed by Screen Archives. Once they started distributing, it took weeks for me to get the first titles (in fairness they did apologize). It was at that point, I cancelled my membership (I had been with the FSM Club from the beginning) and started purchasing them directly from Intrada as well.
Now I don't have to sit waiting for the mailman wondering if I am actually going to get my "club" CDs anymore. I just have to watch the postings to see what I need to order next. :)

You're right about Intrada. I get all my FSM CDs from them and just about everything else apart from Varese Club CDs. Its just that the 1000 editions tend sell out in minutes and unscrupulous dealers buy them in bulk and the next thing you know, they're sold out and Intrada hasn't got any either. I know this happened with Making The Grade, True Confessions and The Kindred. Between a rock and a hard place comes to mind. Varese to be fair to them are usually quite good, but this time... I live in the UK and so it takes even longer than you guys in the States.

I order from Intrada, SAE, Buysoundtrax, Amazon (USA), & Varèse. Varèse is the slowest to deliver, but they do deliver. All of the distributors I order from acknowledge receipt of order and notify when order is dispatched. I have inquired at one time or another with all the distributors about orders and found them to be equally responsive including a recent communication with John Vargas from Varèse. However, Jeff at Intrada is the most cordial.

I ordered mine through SAE. As I live in Illinois, I thought it might take several weeks, but they arrived promptly.

I am an international buyer at Varese.
I ordered Varese CDs last November. But I didn't get it. They asked me to wait for 8 weeks. I waited and asked again on February, and they said to me they sent another package. It has been 6 weeks since they told me. And I didn't get them until now.
A few days ago, I gave up and ordered again at SAE.

Even though I decided for the first time to phone in my order instead of using Varese's website, reason being since I was so pissed and not convinced and willing to accept that Delerue's ''An Almost Perfect Affair'' was sold out only within a few hours after Varese announced on March 6th their new cd club titles, I received all the titles of interest this past Tuesday March 28th including the anticipated Delerue title. Not bad for a shipment sent outside the United States. Being quite busy, as of yet I have not listened to the soundtracks received. This weekend hopefully I'll get the chance to chill out and enjoy the music. Was the wait worthwhile? I'll find soon. Colosseum has great service but their prices are way much more expensive than Varese's. I only order from Colosseum when the need arises and basically when the titles I wish to purchase are nowhere to be found in any other website.

It's a good thing that Varese doesn't have a message board. Imagine all the comments they would receive concerning their CDs.
johnhjohnson, March 31, 2006; 9:04 PM

What was the promo?
conjuctionjuction, March 31, 2006; 11:17 PM

Lucky you! Isn't this title a commercial release same one listed on this website with 13 tracks? What's so rare about it?
conjuctionjuction, April 1, 2006; 12:06 AM

It's april 6th now and I still have not got my varese club titles. I bet customs is calculating 25% over the total price (including postage) and the parcel will be expensive this time. ....
