music for my own movie
hi i was wondering about buying stock music for my own production
which is a science fiction adventure harkening back to the days of flash gordon
with low production value and a vintage look i need theme music to match
but all i can find on the internet is smooth computer generated modern music
i can do effects to the music to make it sound old but i do need the dramatic yet simple
adventure style that the old cereals had
I've looked on imdb and found names like david claxton but i cant find anywhere that will sell
me much

www.arksquare.com has a few "library music" CDs for sale on their web site, but I'm not sure about the legality of using them in your own film.

Go to google and look for IO music ( I think the address is actually www.IOmusic.nl but I'm not sure.
Anyway this guy has some nice stuff and offers it free to anyone who wants to use it. Might be of use to you...
Take it easy and good luck...

I have several in a series of promotional recordings that were released in the 1960's on vinyl taken from the CBS cue library. I've never been able to find out for what purpose they were produced.
Titles like City Backgrounds/Industrial and Machines/Space-Outer Space/Main Titles
Goldsmith/Fred Steiner/Nathan Van Cleve/Bernard Herrmann/David Buttolph and others represented on these recordings.
It was a trip when we found these for at that time none of this music had ever been released on any format.
These days much of the exceptional CBS stock library has been issued yet the origin of the tracks on the "Main Titles" release is still a mystery.
