Ahaahahahhaha
Difficult to say... expecially if you consider that i really LOVE all my cds, from the "most popular" ones to the "extremely rare" :D
Anyway, the "real" rare ones of my collection should be:
A Fish Called Wanda - John DuPrez (Soundscreen)
Alien - Jerry Goldsmith (Silva Screen)
Capricorn One - Jerry Goldsmith (Intrada Special Collection)
Cassandra Crossing - Jerry Goldsmith (Rca)
Commando - James Horner (Varese Club)
Delta Force/King Solomon's Mines - Alan Silvestri/Jerry Goldsmith (Milan)
Dracula - John Williams (Varese)
Ferngully The Last Rainforest - Alan Silvestri (MCA)
Ghostbusters - Elmer Bernstein (Varese Club)
Godzilla - David Arnold (Promo)
Gremlins 2 The New Batch - Jerry Goldsmith (Varese)
Predator - Alan Silvestri (Varese Club)
Shattered - Alan Silvestri (Milan)
Star Wars Trilogy The Complete Anthology (Box 4Cds + Book) - John Williams (Fox Scores)
The Eiger Sanction - John Williams (Varese)
The Odd Couple 2 - Alan Silvestri (Edel)
Tomb Raider The Cradle of Life JAPAN Edition - Alan Silvestri (Pioneer JP)
I'm sure there are more... but for the moment these are the ones I remember well as "rare" or "hard to find" :)

Ghostbusters
The Great Escape
Red Dawn
Blue Thunder (Composer promo)
Gettysburg (2 disc Deluxe Commemmorative Edition)
Raiders of The Lost Ark (DCC release)
Conan The Barbarian (Varese 16 track release but not sure of its rarity)
I really don't listen to the two Bernstein scores though. Just haven't been able to get into them.

All of those soundtracks sound good!
I guess compared to you guys I am a relatively new collector, but I do have a few "rare" CDs.
I have Mouse Hunt (not the import version.)
I also have th National Treasure soundtrack. I got it for 15 dollars, and now the cheapest you can find it (at least on Amazon) is 30, so it has gone up in price.

That's a tough question, but the one at the top of my list is the
Jerry Goldsmith at 20th Century Fox boxed set. It took me a while to land a copy. I was between jobs when it was released or I would have ordered it when it was released.
I have my orginal LP of Star Wars, ditto Close Encounters,...are they rare? probably not, prized by me, definitely.
Same with all of the Victory at Sea soundtrack LP's.

For me, it has to be Kusa No Ran from Eric Mouquet and Michel Sanchez.

I consider "rare" soundtracks that are either out-of-print or have a limited edition of e.g. 3000 copies. Also promo soundtracks might be classified as "rare". I own these soundtracks:
1. Raiders of the lost Ark (silva screen)
2. Hellraiser Chronicles (limited edition package of 3000 copies)
3. Ice Station Zebra (limited, 3000 copies)
4. The Dark Crystal 2 CD (limited 5000 copies)
5. U-571 (promo)
6. Conan the Barbarian (Varese)
7. The Phantom (by David Newman)

I have:
The Dark Crystal 2 CD
Vibes
The Black Cauldron
Stagecoach/Trouble With Angels
Ewok Adventure: Caravan of Courage/Ewok Adventure: Battle For Endor
Krull 2 Disc
Twister - Mancina
Lost World Jurassic Park (it's OOP)
Young Sherlock Holmes 2 Disc
somewhat rare:
Curdled
Haunted Mansion complete score
Willow
I also have a copy of score given out to a few select fans, but it isn't an official promo of Rose Red by Gary Chang.
