Question

In search of Scotts SHOOT TO KILL

http://www.soundtrackcollector.com/catalog/soundtrackdetail.php?movieid=30216
I've been looking for this soundtrack for many years, but never found it. None of my score collecting friends have a copy.
No really helpful informations on the internet.

So is this such rare as it seems?

Imho it's one of Scotts best score (maybe the best).
Has anyone got further informations or a copy for sale?

Thanks

This 1 has been rumoured for quite sometime now. I know there has been some problems with Disney allowing the score out & as stated above, there is a boot leg.
There are also 2 suites of the score on 2 different cds, if i recall 1 is a verese sarabande compilation & the other from Silva screen. I'm not sure if either are in print now.

The last heard on this score, is once the Disney problems are solved it will be coming out on JOS label, John Scotts own label & I'm sure it will be a matter of lawyers & studios sorting out their own bizzare woes. John Scott has been very successful in the past with his own scores being released, so I'm sure it is a matter of time & waiting.

But I would avoid the boot leg as I am reliably informed it is not a very good recording, although i have not heard it myself.

Just keep an ear to the score collecting world as I'm sure this is 1 that will see the light of day at some point.

For the time being, enjoy some of Mr Scotts other great scores, that are about.

regards
Andrew

John Scott's work remains pretty hard to find these days !
I don't have Shoot to kill myself but I try to get "Man on fire" without any success !

The artwork of the boot actually stated JOS RECORDS !!
Clever done.
But the sound quality is really, really bad ...

So, let's wait for the real thing.

A friend gave me a listening copy of it, and as far as the main title goes, I actually think the original soundtrack doesn't stand up to the rerecording John Scott did with the RPO for Varese's "Screen Themes". That album's gotten scarce, too.
