Harry Potter Trailer Music
Hey I'm looking for the music used in one of the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire trailers that
wasn't actually used in the film, and isn't on the in-store soundtrack. It is a kind of vocal music
used in the beginning and end. A woman is basically singing notes, but no words.
Does anyone know the title or where I could find it?
Thank You :)

(copy and paste the whole link,
because it does not link itself to that site)

Perhaps troy ipod if you do a good and thorough internet search you might find sometype of link or answer to your question.
As a suggestion, you could either try contacting the composer or his agent or even locate a forum in the intenet that is dedicated to Harry Potter.
I'm sure they must exist.
I am not familiar with the composition you are referring to but as you probably know trailer music a lot of the times is not composed by the composer who actually composed the original score used in the film.
John Beal has done a lot of compositions for trailer music.
If trailer music interests you, check out John Beal's most popular trailer music, a 2 CD album in the link below for Sonic Images...
This one is a real cool listen which is well priced.

Could you link to an on-line version of the trailer you're thinking of? I have an idea what you're thinking about, but now the only two trailers I find has no choral track whatsoever.

If you go to http://www.allocine.fr/film/video.html?cfilm=53756 and click on the words "Voir la
band-annonce" beside Harry Potter's Picture, it will play in quicktime (sorry about the French). If
you go to http://www.allocine.fr/film/video_gen_cfilm=53756.html, and click the same link, it
will play in Windows Media.
Thank you very much...

Oh, unfortunately it's not what I was thinking about. I read that Edmund Choi's "The Dish" was used in the trailer campaign and when I heard choir, I immediatel thought about "The Day The Earth Stood Still", which is a great little piece in similar vein. But this wasn't it. :(
Guess it's trailer music after all, most likely from Immediate Music... I'll thumb through my collection of choral pieces, but don't know with how much success.
Cheers,
The Cat

I think the music that you are referring to is the music used in the International trailer. That is original trailer music composed by Magic Box Music. I am just as mad as you because I really want that song - but I haven't been able to find it anywhere!! :( Maybe this info will lead someone else to find it though. Good luck!

This is actually an extremely old song. I learned it when I was very young and from what I understand, the dialect in which it's sung A) describes some rather vulgar descriptions, so horrific that B)the dialacet spoken is so rare and forgotten no one can translate it anymore. Unortunately, I don't remember the name of the song so unfortunately cannot be of much help. I judt wanted to point out that it was NOT made just for trailers, and is in fact, HUNDREDS of years old.
