Track listing for recent Avanz CD

Does anyone have a "corrected" track listing for the Avanz CD GRANDEGGIO ! TEMA DAL FILM GILI 45 N.1 (SP/CR-00014, 23 tracks)? This 2006 production collects many of the earlier BEAT 45/single soundtrack releases. It has come to my attention that some of the tracks are incorrectly identified. For instance, track 18, Dolce Notte, is credited to Piero Umiliani, but it might actually be a track by Marcello Gigante. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Hi bipcress!

I believe you are correct.

Dear Serifiot, thank you for the link! Actually BEAT records contacted Avanz about the GRANDEGGIO release, prior to release, and had to inform the label that they did not have the proper rights to those recordings. Also, BEAT discovered that the track listing had many errors, and BEAT tried several times to submit the needed corrections, but Avanz ignored the help and printed the faulty listing. Very strange! I thought you might like to know that BEAT is soon going to provide me with a fully-corrected track listing. - John Bender

Hi John! Post them here on S.C. once you receive them.

I'm assuming you have this cd. What was the price you paid? A little pricy judging from the link I submitted. How's the sound quality? Any good?
You believe this compilation cd currently sold will be removed if Beat Records takes legal action against Avanz?
It might turn out to be sort of a collector's item.

BEAT did acquire some payment from Avanz, so I don't think this CD will be pulled from circulation. However, the rumor is that this did happen with an earlier Avanz release, Nascimbene's KISS THE GIRLS AND MAKE THEM DIE. Supposedly this is the rarest of all Italian soundtrack CDs because Avanz was only able to satisfy a few orders before the disc was seized by creditors for non-payment. I barely managed to procure a copy for myself, and it took some luck! The sound on GRANDEGGIO is good, but obviously from older vinyl sources. The CD is filled with rareties, not many collectors today will have any of the old singles covered in this collection (I don't), and much of the music is quite nice - a lot of fine spaghetti western material, and a beautiful song by DeMasi called Shari El Nil. I do not know how much the disc costs because my copy was purchased for me as a gift by a dear Japanese friend (my beloved Yoshi aka Garringo). If you cannot get a copy write me directly and I will help you. - John

"Kiss The Girls And Make Them Die"... strange, off beat translation.
Now this certainly is an unusual collector's cd!
Not familiar with Nascimbene's music on this one.
I guess looking for a copy is like looking for a pin in a haystack.
Perhaps it might get a future rerelease by another record label.

Thanks for the offer. If not, I'll notify you.
Thanks a lot!!

I finally now have the completely corrected track listing for GRANDEGGIO! TEMA DAL FILM GILI 45! The last answer I posted here suggested visiting the MovieMusicItaliano board at Yahoo to view the corrected listing, but I have since added much more information (film titles and full composer credits), plus even a few more corrections. Please now visit the MMi board to view the finished corrections for this exciting CD release. Once at MMi go into the "Files" section, and then into the "CD cover art" file to find GRANDEGGIO! Here is the MMi board link:

John:
I am not sure if this is possible, but I am very interested in getting a copy of the Kiss The girls and Make Them Die soundtrack. Let me know if this is possible. I have a nice compilation of rare-spy tunes from similar movies that you might like.
Let me know if you're interested. You can email me at:
