*T.V. COP SHOW FUNK* con't... "CHIPS"

What were we discussing not so long ago my fellow film music devotees!???

Alan Silvestri's music from season two for the T.V. cop show "Chips", the television series which aired in the late 70's has just been released by FSM.

Even though I was not too wild for this particular series as a youngster, the music to me definetely sounds Fun-Disco-Funky-Funk!...

Take out those dusty old glam bell bottoms and shake that bootie now!!...

OOooh yeah!!!...

Any explanation why it is "Volume One: Season Two..."? To me "Volume One" would only make sense if there would be a "Volume Two" to follow - if not, for what reason did they add that to the title?

Maybe I missed it, but I saw no announcement anywhere in Lukas' description that would hint at any "Volume Two" plans.

No announcement(s) whatsoever!

Perhaps 'Volume Two' will follow sooner or later and Three and Four...

I don't know what Lukas is brewing but judging from this recent release he certainly likes to give us *BIG BANG* suprises!

I honestly was taken by frenzy since I did not expect this at all.

I want to believe that more similar releases will follow sooner or later including a second volume and that hopefully this release would finally unvault once and for all more of the great television music that was done for classic - and even not so classic - 70's crime/cop shows like 'The King' of cop shows Uncle Theo "Kojak", "Baretta", "Columbo", "The Streets Of San Francisco" and on and on and on...

It's a shame not to!

I must say I don't remember ever having watched CHiPS on TV.

I agree though that the other titles you mention would deserve releases as well. My personal favourites would be some early 1980 series though, among them MAGNUM P.I., DALLAS, DYNASTY and FALCON CREST.

Oh, and then of course Henry Mancini's grand theme for REMINGTON STEELE!

I was not into watching Chips myself either but the music sure sounds... well, need I say more!

I agree on those 80's television shows you mentioned as well, 100%!

Also, since we're on the topic of television, I wonder if those numerous twisted episodes from the series "Tales From The Crypt" would ever get their score music released as well which was wtitten by some prominent figures in the film music industry.

There is this one compilation release which I cannot track down but I'm sure more music is just sitting around gathering dust somewhere.

It would be great to see those unearthed or should I say... EXHUUUMED!?
