Fake 101
This fellow re-animate who has kept his feedback private and is the subject of much ridicule on this forum is offering the "original" CD of The Serpent and the Rainbow for a low starting bid of 19.99 US dollars (Item number: 300018905519 ). No photos, no feedback which can be seen. How can people fall for this? Cannot ebay shut him down?

Aaah, the seller does not accept PayPal anymore - or in other words they banned him !!
It's good to see that PayPal does react when someone is abusing their system. But forget to expect that Ebay will shut him down.
They know that he will register again with a new nick and more important - Ebay makes a lot of money with illegal/counterfeit products and this includes all categories. Not only Film Music !!
A few months ago I read somewhere that TIFFANY was considering sueing Ebay !!
Anyone in the US knows what happened in this case ??

I read that as well but never followed up on it. I wonder what happened?
It seems that it's finally time for eBay to be perpetrated just a little bit by law enforcers for their knowingly illegal practices instead of playing it dumb!

Yes you´re right. This guy is really a crook. But sometimes you can be wrong: Two weeks ago there was an auction at ebay for "serpent and the rainbow". The seller had 98 % positive feedback. The attached photo of the cocer was bad and hardly legible. And how should someone who normaly don´t sell CD´s be in posession of a quite rare CD ?. I bid (not with confidence) an bought the CD for 70 Euros (approximately 90 $). One week later the original Varese CD arrived: Cover and inserts in mint condition, the CD with some fine scratches, but plays perfectly.
But i also remember USAPOLITICAL ITEMS who had 100 %positive feedback and was above all a damned scoundrel

Lucky you!...
Sometimes I find sellers who don't specialize in soundtracks more trustworthy than the ones who do.
Many times they are unaware of the value of whatever soundtrack they are selling which means that one can find a true gem at a low and decent price from these people.
